Why does Fairlife milk taste so good Reddit

FairLife is a company that makes many dairy products such as milk and protein shakes. I have linked a couple of their products below.

They are notorious for have a very high amount of protein and low amount of sugar yet still tasting good compared to many other high protein beverages. The FairLife drinks are also usually only 14oz/serving, so the volume isn't very large either. Is this something to do with the processing? I've never come across nutrition facts like these.

Edit: People in the comments are talking about how they use “ultra-filtration”. I have not heard of this used a technical term. Does anyone know the exact method they use?

Edit: ANSWERED

It's milk made by Coca-Cola that's removed some fat and lactose from it. I've been drinking this stuff for about 4 months and I absolutely love it. Just wondering if I'm the only one. Also, my brother is lactose intolerant and this is the only milk he enjoys without consequences.

I used to think fairlife sucked. Today I bought whole chocolate milk from fairlife. My life is a lie. I don't know why, but the difference between whole and 2% is extremely large. 2% left a sour aftertaste in my mouth, and whole just leaves a nice chocolate finish. I can't tell if it's because of the fat content or a difference in ingredients (since the whole one also said it had omega 3 or smth, but that's not why I bought it), but my view on fairlife chocolate milk has completely changed. Never buying the 2% stuff ever again.

I don't even know why whole milk would taste better than 2%, but I guess it does? honestly if anyone has an actual explanation for this that would be awesome

Would like to encourage my sporty teenage son to drink more milk but he only likes chocolate milk which is full of sugar. Fairlife claims their method doubles the protein / reduces sugar by 30% and my son loves the taste. 240 ml / 1 cup has 13 g of protein and 12 g sugar - relatively not too bad.

Aside from some controversy and fact it’s owned by a monolithic corporation, from a nutritional stance, anything I’m missing ? Or any comparable brands (canada). Cheers.

Hey guys, I have been looking for a way to add dairy back into my diet. I stumbled onto fairlife milk via a good friend of mine. Their fat free milk has 13g of protien and only 6g of sugar per cup. The best part is the product stays fresh for a few months vs the 2 weeks of traditional milk. Anyone tried on here tried this? How does it taste/compare to skim milk?

Fairlife milk drinkers beware. Never again will I buy their milk after seeing this. from chicago

I just saw a new product at my grocery store, fairlife brand "ultra filtered" milk. It looks to have 5g more protein in a cup than regular milk. Has anyone tried this? Is it good? Does it taste normal???

If you know, you know.

Lately my goal has been to drink one 52 oz carton of this stuff daily. Either chocolate or regular. Depends what mood I’m in.

A little over a thousand calories and 105g protein.

This stuff is so good I can’t get enough.
