Who is leaving y&r in 2022

Who’s leaving Young and the Restless? There are several cast changes ahead this year but who’s in and who’s out on the CBS soap? Let’s take a look. Are Adam Newman and Amanda Sinclair poised to exit Y&R?

The talk began a few weeks ago about Y&R hunk Mark Grossman, who plays Adam Newman. The word was that his contract was up for renewal and that he was considering walking away from the part of Adam.

That came from a leaker who works behind the scenes at The Young and the Restless. Now, though, they’ve come forward with new info about Grossman’s fate as Adam Newman. He debuted in May of 2019.

And that was reportedly a three-year initial deal Grossman inked at Y&R. Now three years on and it’s renewal time. The leak first said Mark didn’t plan to renew his contract. They also said the showrunners were “not” that worried about the Adam actor’s status.

Then, the insider came back with contrasting news. They said Mark Grossman indeed inked a new deal (no word on how long) and is going nowhere. So, Adam Newman sticks around for at least another year, says the source.

If you’d heard Adam was leaving The Young and the Restless, don’t panic. It looks like he won’t follow Jordi Vilasus (aka Ray) out the door. We’ve also heard some crossover news that we may see Adam Newman over at B&B for a drive-by…

Who Else is out at Y&R? Mishael Morgan Leaving?

Another name we’ve heard as possibly exiting the CBS soap is Mishael Morgan as Amanda Sinclair. Her current writing’s not that great and she’s got no front-burner storyline as Amanda.

The same source spilling tea about Grossman also said they’d heard Mishael might have one foot out the door. Her last episode as Hilary Curtis was July 27, 2018. After fan outrage, the soap created the role of her twin — Amanda.

Morgan stepped into that role a little over a year later in September 2019. That means her contract’s up in early Fall on a three-year deal. But the Young and the Restless leak isn’t the only place we’ve heard exit chatter about Mishael.

Another source teased that the beauty might be flipping soaps and heading to General Hospital for a pivotal role. With more unmarried ladies than men on Y&R, the soap’s out of balance. You’d hate to see Mishael go, but GH might give her a meatier part…

Other Young and the Restless Cast Exits

Judith Chapman is back as Gloria Abbott. And it would be thrilling if she was back on contract. But usually, Glo drops in and out pretty fast. It would be a delight if they kept her around and put her in the fashion business.

But, it seems likelier that we’ll see Chapman in and out. But fingers crossed she sticks around this time to aggravate her sons and stir the pot with everyone in Genoa City.

We’ll update you if we hear anything else about an Adam Newman exit – or Amanda Sinclair. Stay tuned?

Mishael Morgan is one of the leading ladies of The Young and the Restless. The Daytime Emmy winner has been an essential part of the CBS soap opera on and off for the past nine years. However, after fans notice something in a recent episode, Morgan’s status with the show is questioned.

Since her debut in June 2013, Morgan has become a hit with The Young and the Restless fans. Morgan’s performance as bad girl turned heroine Hilary Curtis had fans loving to hate her. But Hilary’s relationship with Devon Hamilton (Bryton James) made the actor and her character famous.

Sadly in 2018, viewers said goodbye to Morgan and Hilary. However, the actor returned a year later as the new character Amanda Sinclair. While fans were uncertain of Amanda, the character became a prominent player in Genoa City. But fans might be bidding farewell to the character soon.

According to Soap Dirt, Morgan is rumored to be leaving the CBS soap opera. While fans quickly dismissed the reports, a recent episode has them wondering if the rumors are true. On the August 12 episode, viewers noticed Morgan’s name absent from the closing credits, sparking concern she’s out.

Mishael Morgan left the show in 2018

Speculation about Morgan’s exit comes less than two months after her momentous Daytime Emmy win. On June 24, Morgan made history by becomng the first black woman to win Outstanding Lead Actress. It’d be a big shock if Morgan were to leave, yet it wouldn’t be the first time she departed The Young and the Restless.

In July 2018, Morgan made her final appearance as Hilary when the character died from a car crash injury. Morgan’s decision to leave was because of money issues. The producer’s decision to kill Hilary upset fans, who weren’t shy about expressing their outrage.

However, fans were thrilled when Morgan returned in September 2019, this time as Amanda. As a Hilary lookalike, Amanda’s presence startled Devon, and later, he discovered Amanda was Hilary’s long-lost twin sister. Amanda made life in Genoa City as their resident lawyer. She also gained a family with her birth mother, Naya Benedict (Ptosha Storey), and half-sister Imani Benedict (Leigh-Ann Rose).

But if rumors about Morgan’s exit turn out to be true, Amanda’s time in Genoa City might end.

What happens to Amanda Sinclair on ‘The Young and the Restless’?

The Young and the Restless fans are playing the waiting game about the news of Morgan’s status. But speculation is already starting on what this means for Amanda. Given the backlash over Hilary’s death, the writers would be wise not to write the same fate for Amanda.

Amanda is in a relationship with Devon, yet the two might be headed for trouble in paradise. With their new jobs at Chancellor-Winters, they’re under stress. Aside from work, Amanda is also playing mediator with Devon and Nate Hastings (Sean Dominic). With Nate possibly hooking up with Amanda’s sister Imani, this could mean a reunion with Elena Dawson (Brytni Sarpy) and Devon.

Aside from work and Devon, Amanda is going through a difficult time after Naya has a stroke. Amanda could leave town if overwhelmed by the drama in her work and personal life. The time away will let her clear her head. Then when and if she returns, she’ll come back to big changes.

The Young and the Restless fans might be saying goodbye to Ashland Locke (Robert Newman) forever. The character has been a hit with fans since his debut in March 2021. Richard Burgi originated the role but was later recast with Robert Newman in February 2022. It’s only been five months since Newman’s debut, but fans are worried the actor and his character are leaving.

Ashland Locke’s death leads to speculation Robert Newman is leaving ‘The Young and the Restless’

When Newman took over as Ashland, many of The Young and the Restless fans worried he wasn’t a good fit. While Newman is known for playing good guys, he quickly eased into his new role as a Genoa City villain. Ashland becomes public enemy number one with his deceit.

His lies about having cancer ended his marriage to Victoria Newman (Amelia Heinle) and shunned him from the Newman family. However, Victoria gave Ashland another chance, much to his delight. Yet, Ashland would be left looking like a fool when he learned Victoria was only with him to scam him out of $250 million.

After Victoria’s scheme, fans anxiously awaited Ashland’s next step in his revenge plot. Unfortunately, it won’t be playing out. In the July 25 episode, Ashland fell and hit his head during a scuffle with Nick Newman (Joshua Morrow). Victoria didn’t feel a pulse, indicating Ashland died.

With Ashland meeting a tragic demise, many fans wonder if this means Newman is leaving. The actor took to Twitter, sharing a video in which he confirmed the end of his stint on The Young and the Restless. Newman acknowledged his contract was up but suggested a return wasn’t out of the question.

‘The Young and the Restless’ fans don’t want Robert Newman to leave

Newman is a beloved soap opera actor who won over the audience’s heart as Josh Lewis on Guiding Light. The actor portrayed the heroic Josh from 1981 until its cancellation in 2009. After a 12-year break, Newman returned to daytime TV as Ashland on The Young and the Restless.

Newman being recast as Ashland was a huge story, and fans were happy to see him return to soap operas. But based on recent events with Ashland, Newman’s run seems to have ended. Fans aren’t pleased about the exit and are expressing their frustrations on Twitter.

“I actually hate the thought of losing @RobertNewmanGL as Ashland Locke on #YR,” wrote one user.

“I had such high hopes for @RobertNewmanGL as Ashland Locke,” wrote another fan.

“Do not kill Ashland!!!” pleaded another viewer.

“Lazy writing and a waste of a promising character. Ashland could’ve been so much more, but these writers don’t care for many characters; it shows,” another commenter chimed in.

Is Ashland Locke still alive?

It looks like Ashland has bitten the dust on The Young and the Restless as the Newmans cover up his murder. However, there are more mysteries to be solved in this storyline. The biggest question is, what happened to Ashland’s body?

Some fans believe that either Victor Newman (Eric Braeden) or Adam Newman (Mark Grossman) could’ve removed the body from Victoria’s house. However, many fans believe that Ashland is still alive.

There was plenty more to tell in Ashland’s story, and the character might not be finished yet. Although everyone believes he’s dead, in Genoa City, characters return from the dead all the time. Ashland could’ve woken up and fled from Victoria’s home or had some assistance from an accomplice.

While the Newmans think this is the last of Ashland, they might be in for a surprise when he returns. If Ashland was angry before, he’ll be more furious and ready to seek revenge on his ex-wife and her family.
