The opening date for the Boston Bruins' new season has been announced.The National Hockey League announced the team's 2022-23 schedule on Wednesday, revealing that the Bruins will open the season on the road against the Washington Capitals on Oct. 12.Boston's home opener at TD Garden is scheduled for three days later, Oct. 15, against the Arizona Coyotes.Other key games early in the season include the Presidents Trophy-winning Florida Panthers' first trip to TD Garden on Oct. 17, the Bruins' first trip to Toronto to face the Maple Leafs on Nov. 5 and the first trip to Boston for the Stanley Cup finalist Tampa Bay Lightning on Nov. 29.The Bruins will have a three-game road trip against the Stanley Cup champion Colorado Avalanche (Dec. 7), Arizona (Dec. 9) and Vegas Golden Knights (Dec. 11) before hosting their longest homestand of the season. The five-game homestand at TD Garden includes games against the New York Islanders (Dec. 13), Los Angeles Kings (Dec. 15), Columbus Blue Jackets (Dec. 17), Florida (Dec. 19) and Winnipeg Jets (Dec. 22).The B's will start the new year with a bang, as they host the Pittsburgh Penguins at Fenway Park on Jan. 2 for the 2023 NHL Winter Classic.Boston will play five straight road games in late January and early February, tied for the longest stretch away from home during the season. The opening date for the Boston Bruins' new season has been announced.

The National Hockey League announced the team's 2022-23 schedule on Wednesday, revealing that the Bruins will open the season on the road against the Washington Capitals on Oct. 12.

Boston's home opener at TD Garden is scheduled for three days later, Oct. 15, against the Arizona Coyotes.
