The Ravens and Cardinals are in distinctly similar situations heading into the 2022 season. Both sides are part of extremely competitive divisions. Both sides are trying to break the glass ceiling and establish themselves as real contenders in their respective conferences. Both sides are led by young, exciting, dual-threat QBs. There's a lot to like about the Ravens and Cardinals. But there's also a lot that needs to improve. And what better time is there to make those improvements than in August? Baltimore and Arizona are slated to face each other in Week 2 of the preseason. And although neither Kyler Murray nor Lamar Jackson will play, it's a game that could indicate just how far the two sides (and more specifically, their supporting casts) are from competing atop the NFL ladder. One player to look out for is Hollywood Brown. The former Ravens receiver was dealt to Arizona prior to the 2022 NFL Draft and looks poised to get some real targets, especially with No. 1 wideout DeAndre Hopkins suspended for the first six games of the season. He hasn't played with Murray much this offseason, but looks destined to carve out a big role in coach Kliff Kingsbury's aerial attack. Oh, and he and Murray were college teammates. That should help things out. "We’ve been chomping at the bit to get those guys out there together," Kingsbury said, according to AZ Central's Bob McManaman. "They had some nice plays together and I think it will just grow the more Marquise gets comfortable within our system and they get on the same page over the next three weeks. I think it should be a good thing for our offense." The 2022 NFL schedule has been released. Now, fans are going to turn their attention to when next they will see their teams on the field. NFL viewers certainly won't mind the shortened preseason. After all, that means one extra game in the regular season and one week closer to the start of the regular season, which starts on Sept. 8 in a Thursday matchup between the Rams and Bills.
