Q: What's a channel?

Channels are a tool for broadcasting public messages to large audiences. In fact, channels can have an unlimited number of subscribers. When you post in a channel, the message is signed with the channel's name and not yours. You can appoint additional administrators to help you manage the channel. New subscribers can see the entire message history in a channel once they join.

To create a channel:
iPhone: Start a new message (tap the icon in the top-right corner in Chats). Then ‘New Channel’.
Android: Tap the circular pencil icon in the chat list. Then ‘New Channel’.
Windows Phone: Tap the ‘+’ button on the bottom bar. Then ‘New Channel’.

Q: How are public and private channels different?

Public channels have a username. Anyone can find them in Telegram search and join. Private channels are closed societies – you need to be added by the owner or get an invite link to join.

Please note that private channels with publicly available invite links will be treated in the same way as public channels, should it come to content disputes.

Q: What can administrators do?

The owner of a channel can broadcast messages, delete any messages, add subscribers (the first 200 only), remove subscribers, change the channel's name, profile image and link, as well as delete the channel completely. The owner can also add and remove administators to help manage the channel.

You can set up administrator rights for each individual administrator when you appoint them.

Q: What happens if I delete a message?

If a message is deleted in a channel, it will disappear for all subscribers.

Q: How do I add people to my channel?

As the channel's owner, you may invite the first 200 subscribers to your channel. Once the subscriber count reaches 200, the channel is on its own. If it's a public channel, it will have a username and a telegram.me/ link (e.g. t.me/telegram) – you can post this link on social networks, advertise it in magazines, or tattoo it on your back. If you have a private channel, you can send an invite link to your friends.

Please do not send channel links (or other unsolicited messages) to strangers. If they report spam from your account, you may be banned from contacting other people, however good your intentions.

Q: What does the eye icon mean?

Each post in a channel has a view counter. Views from forwarded copies of your messages are also included in the total count. This way you can see how far it has spread.

Please note that these numbers are approximate — we don't want to keep a record for everything you've ever viewed. After a short while (around 4 days), Telegram will forget that you've seen a post and will count you again if you navigate to it. For this reason you may see several views for posts in a private channel where you are alone.

Q: How do I know who posted a message?

As the owner of the channel, you can enable admin signatures that users will see next to the view counters. These signature only mention the name of the administrator and no link to their profile.

If the signatures are disabled, there is no way for users to know whether a message was posted by the owner or one of the administrators.

Q: Are there any feedback options?

You can add a discussion group chat to the channel, and your subscribers will see a comment button for each post in the channel. Comments show up in a thread of their own and also land in the discussion group to keep everyone in the loop and make it easier for admins to keep the conversation civil.

You can also use bots (e.g. the @like bot) to add buttons to your posts.

How can I join a private channel on Telegram without informing the admin? –
You can join this group using one path, and if you are invited by any member of this channel you can join this channel using your fake identity and then the administrator will not tell you that you are a man, so this is the only way to join any telegram channel without informing the administrator.

• The private channel is only accessible to subscribers and is not visible in public search. To join a private channel, you must receive a link from the owner (administrator)
• All users can access the public channel regardless of whether they are subscribed or not.

Can I view a telegram private group without joining it?

After 5 minutes of first access to the channel through a private link, it can not be viewed without a subscription, allowing the client to subscribe to it. They are safe until you share a link to your private channels.

1. Click the Search icon in the upper right corner of the app with the magnifying glass lamp with.
2. Use the keyword you’d like to see and several channels appear with the Bullhorn Lam with next to it.
3. Tap on the desired channel.

Now, at the top of the channel page, tap the section where the channel profile name and photo are. Now click on the setting icon that looks like gear. Then tap the Manage Channels section and tap Recent Events. In this section you will see the latest people added or removed to your group.

What Are Telegram Channels?

Telegram channels are different from Telegram groups, though they do appear to be similar. For instance, Telegram groups can have up to 200,000 users, and they can be open to the public.

You can have an unlimited number of subscribers to a public or private channel. Public channels get their own “www.t.me/username” URL.

Only the channel owner or the admin can post to the channel, each message has a view count and details of who shared the message, and channels can include rich media like video, audio, polls, and more.

Find Telegram Channels Online

You’ll find Telegram channels for anything and everything, from news organizations to sports updates, to books and movies.

While you can search for a keyword directly in Telegram, there’s a better way to find Telegram channels. And that’s by using organized online repositories.

The Telegram Channels website is an online repository of channels that are organized based on topics and interests. You’ll find a list of channels for movies, books, technology, and more.

From the site, you can explore multiple channels, see their latest posts, and view the number of subscribers.

When you’re ready, simply tap the “Subscribe” button to open the channel in the Telegram app.

From the Telegram app, just tap the “Join” button to join the channel.

Search and Join Telegram Channels

If you know the name of the Telegram channel that you want to join, you can do so directly from the Telegram app. The process is slightly different for the iPhone and Android app.

On your Android smartphone, open the Telegram app and tap the search button from the top-right corner.

Now, type in the name of the Telegram channel that you want to join and select it from the search results.

This will open the Telegram channel. You can browse around to see the latest updates.

When you’re ready to join the channel, just tap the “Join” button.

If you’re using an iPhone, open the Telegram app and go to the “Chats” tab. Here, tap the search bar from the top of the screen. Scroll down if you don’t see it.

Here, type in the name of the Telegram channel that you want to join. Then, select it from the search results.

To join the channel, simply tap the “Join” button.

You are now subscribed to the channel. You’ll find the channel in the “Chats” tab, along with all your other conversations. When a channel shares an update, you’ll be notified about it.

Mute Telegram Channels

Telegram channels are a great source of the latest information on any topic. But if you have too many channels, your notifications can go haywire. Muting channels can help. And if it gets to be too much, you can always leave a Telegram channel.

The process of muting and unmuting a channel is the same on both the Android and iPhone apps. From the Telegram app, open the Telegram channel in question, and from the bottom, tap the “Mute” button to mute the channel. You can come back and unmute it from the same place.

Leave Telegram Channels

The steps for leaving a Telegram channel are different depending on your device. On your Android smartphone, open the Telegram channel that you want to leave, then tap the channel’s name from the top.

Here, tap the three-dot menu icon from the top-right corner.

Then, choose the “Leave Channel” option.

From the pop-up message, tap the “Leave Channel” option to confirm.

On your iPhone, go to the Telegram channel that you want to leave and tap its name, which is found at the top of the screen.

Tap the “Leave” button.

From the pop-up message, choose the “Leave Channel” option.

Instantly, the channel will disappear from the Telegram app.
