Always look behind youWhen you lose your guard the rake might take a chance to sneak behind you and kill you. But there are tactics to survive that 1. Stay in groups when you stay in groups the rake has to pick one to target so the others a alerted that the rake is at the area the group is in. 2. Buy a tracker a tracker is one of the best ways to stay safe from the rake and if the rake is within range of the tracker you will be able to plan ahead of time for an escape. 3. Put your back on the wall The one of the best way to not get sneak attack is to put your back on the wall it might sound crazy but it is best way to survive a sneak attack. 4. Look back to back A simple way of preventing a sneak attack is to look back to back and that's it . Entering the ServerNever wander.When a player enters the server, they are spawned in a random spot. When observed, many players make a bad decision to wander aimlessly in the forest. This move can be risky, as the Rake is known to wander in open spaces, which can cause a run-in(s) with the creature. The best approach is to look out for landmarks and locate a shelter as soon as possible. Following player(s) with the most survivals in the server that you're in is always a good idea if you're new to the game. It is recommended to walk with another player or two (as a distraction or meat shield), but not a large group, as the Rake is an AI and can find players easily. This has been tested by several players. (Walking across the borders of the map isn't a bad idea and in fact is recommended.) Listen for Sounds, Lights & Movement.When entering a server, sounds are vital to surviving. The player can predict the situation, increasing their chance of survival. The Rake is almost silent. The best strategy is to look around so that he cannot sneak up on you. Look around for a pair of small, white eyes. If you can see them, the Rake should be about 90 studs away from you. If you see the Rake, DO NOT Zig-Zag. The rake is a monster, not an alligator. (The best strategy is to run in the opposite direction) If there are screams, another player has accidentally hurt themselves or the Rake has attacked them. If you hear any inhuman shrieks, that means the Rake has found a player and has started to chase them. The back of the power station is facing the right side of the shop. The (damaged) Safe HouseThe Safe House, although the name implies otherwise, is not actually very safe. It is located near the Well. If you find the Safe House, grab the radio in the back of the building on a desk. It is useful for communication. The Safe House has a door and lights. The lights drain power, so it is not recommended to use them. The door does not attract the Rake, but it drains power, so it should only be used when the Rake is close. It is a good strategy to have a player with Night-Vision goggles watching outside. They can watch for the Rake. If the Rake comes, he will start trying to get on the roof. When you hear thumping sounds, that means the Rake has climbed on top of the roof. When you hear wood breaking, it's a good time to open the door and start running. (He's broken the ceiling.) The TowerThe tower is again one of the places on the map that seems safe, but is really not. There are only two exits; the ladder and jumping (jumping is not advised as it will immobilize you and you will most likely die from injury and/or the Rake jumping down and killing you). The other way off when the Rake climbs up the ladder... is the ladder. There ARE four spotlights that can be toggled on and off at the top, but they largely drain the power. If the Rake comes, the only thing you can do is get off of the tower from the top. Try walking off the railings, instead of jumping off of them. You will take less damage, although if you aren't quick enough, the rake will slash you and you will be forced into a crawl. The ladder glitch where players would be immune to slashes has been patched, but there is now a glitch where the player can no-clip into the middle of the tower. It is not known how. The Base CampThe Base Camp is okay to stay at because it is at the bottom of the map, away from the Rake. If he gets to you though, it is easy for him to kill you. It is also not recommended to stay there at the start of the round, as the Cave, where the Rake spawns, is pretty close to the Camp. However, you can use a glitch to get rake stuck and wait for a flare coord (or just stand there). The Flare Coordinate paper spawns here, and you can use it to find the Flare Gun. The Power StationThe Power Station is not normally a good place to stay long because of the electrified water and a few hiding spots. You must go to the Power Station to reactivate the power. The Power Station is sometimes good to wait because it is in the corner of the map. It is not recommended to camp there unless the power is VERY low to the point where it looks like a sliver. The normal power usage is 10 but using doors and lights will increase the usage to 200+. There is a way to tell if the Rake is near though. The railing/fence around the power station is half transparent. You can look through this and see an outline of the Rake. Be careful though, as you may mistake random black spots on the fence to be the Rake. Keep an eye out for movement inside the railing. (Note that not all items that require power does not need power to be used.) The ShopThe Shop, during the day, is where you get your items. During the night it does not help other than being in the corner of the map. It is somewhat close to the Cave, so the Rake will sometimes come after you when he spawns. The leader-board is behind the shop. There are 4 flare spawns close to the shop. If you have almost enough for an item, it might be a good idea to look for scrap around the map. If you find some, you can sell it to the shopkeeper. There is a way to glitch into the shop by players, but this is unknown. You can get onto the roof of the shop by jumping on the pumpkin, and going into 3rd person and repeatedly trying to jump onto the roof. |
